Dash cam Q&A

Q: What are the requirements for the memory card for this Dash Cam?
A: Dash Cam supports a maximum storage capacity of 256GB and is only compatible with momery cards of U3/V30/Class10/A2 specifications or higher. Using a card with lower specifications may lead to malfunctions in the dash cam.

Q: Why is it recommended to format the memory card every 30 days?
A: Over time, with cyclical use, the memory card accumulates a significant amount of superfluous data, which can hinder read and write speeds. To maintain the memory card in its best working condition and extend its lifespan, regular formatting is necessary to clear out this superfluous data.

Q: How long can a 64GB memory card record?
A: In 4K mode, a 64GB card can record continuously for about 4 hours, while a 256GB card can facilitate recording for roughly 15 hours. Once the memory card reaches its full capacity, the device will automatically commence loop recording.

Q: Will the camera stop recording when the memory card is full, and do I need to manually delete the videos?
A: The Dash Cam operates in a loop recording mode, where new videos will automatically overwrite the oldest videos based on their timestamps. This means there's no need for you to manually delete videos.

Q: How long is each recording on the Dash Cam? Is there an interval when playing?
A: The Dash Cam allows you to set recording durations of either 1, 3, or 5 minutes. Rest assured, there will be no interruptions or intervals during playback of these video segments.

Q: Why does the Dash Cam make a "DIDIDI" sound when it starts up?
A: Upon startup, the Dash Cam will automatically conduct a check of the memory card. Should there be any issues with the memory card, the device will emit a "DIDIDI" sound to alert you to inspect the memory card's condition. Conversely, if the memory card is functioning properly, the device will remain silent, with no alert sounds.

Q: If the Dash Cam is unplugged from the power supply, can the original settings still be saved?
A: Yes, they can be saved. The Dash Cam uses the power of the built-in supercapacitor to save all settings.

Q: Why won't my Dash Cam automatically shut down?
A: Please verify if the power output of your vehicle's cigarette lighter remains active even when the vehicle is turned off. If so, the Dash Cam would not be able to shut down automatically. In such a situation, an additional parking monitor power cord may need to be purchased to resolve the issue.

Q: Does parking monitoring require additional hardware support?
A: To utilize the parking monitoring function, it is necessary to purchase a Gleetour parking monitor power cord.

Q: My cigarette lighter is always on, it can't shut down automatically and it will drain my vehicle's battery. How can I solve this issue?
A: Buying a Gleetour parking monitor power cord can effectively address this issue. This cord is designed to automatically disconnect the power when the battery voltage drops below 11.6V or 23.5V, thereby conserving battery power for the vehicle's restart.

Q: I've installed the parking monitor cord, but it won't shut down automatically?
A: If the ACC connection of the parking monitor cord is not set up correctly, the Dash Cam will fail to shut down. Please verify that the ACC power cord is properly connected.

Q: How many modes does the parking monitor have, and does it record continuously?
A: Parking monitoring has two working modes: collision start recording and time-lapse recording.  However, it should be noted that these two modes cannot be enabled at the same time. If you choose time-lapse recording and turn on G-Sensor, if you encounter a collision during time-lapse recording, the device will automatically lock the time-lapse video and save it in the locked folder. If you choose the collision start recording mode, please make sure to turn on the G-sensor and set the collision sensitivity. You must also disable the time-lapse recording mode. At this time, the device enters the collision start recording mode (for how to set the parking monitoring mode, please refer to the product function operating instructions)

Q: How long can the parking monitor record at most?
A:  In the time-lapse recording mode for parking monitoring, the recording duration can be set to either 12, 24, or 72 hours. However, the actual recording duration depends on the vehicle battery's charge level. If the battery charge is low, the Dash Cam will cease monitoring to ensure sufficient power for the vehicle to restart. For the collision recording mode, there's no need to set a monitoring duration. Should the vehicle experience a collision, the Dash Cam will automatically capture a 20-second video and store it in the locked video folder.

Q: Will the screen always stay on during parking monitoring mode?
A:  No, the screen is turned off in parking monitoring mode to preserve the vehicle's battery power.
